20V/18GA Cordless Finishing Nailer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 96.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from WAS sceptical at first. Lowes is good about return I had the other porter cable 20 volt tools and had a numatic nail gun. Ill try it if it doesn't perform ill return it. Well it exceeded my expectations. my nuematic nail gun left 2 dimples for each nail. the PC cordless leaves 1 dimple. Where the nail is . Ill keep my compressor to put air in tires. I recommend it highly. beats having to drag out compressor, hose, the noise of the compressor. All i can say is you wont be sorry. Now there is about a 1/2 to 1 second lag time after you pull the trigger before the nail comes out. If you buy it from lowes and don't like it return it. What do you have to loose.?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding performance! When my electric nailer gave up the ghost, I began the search for a replacement. While I have two other nailers, I often choose insteat to not use them as it means firing up the air compressor, and all the noise and hassle thereto. I bought this PC nailer and it has exceeded all of my expectations. Depth of nail head is adjustable, and even in hardwoods the nail is driven well and precisely. LED lighting illuminates the impact point. Battery handles all the driving I need to do in a typical session. This is a great, well-designed tool that I use nearly every day in my custom furniture and cabinet making business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How did I ever get along without this? Bought this to use on a long-dreaded crown molding project and found it made the project a breeze. It is so much fun to use that the challenges are (1) to not put in more nails than are needed and (2) to stop looking for more projects where it can be used. The ergonomics are good and the overall weight light enough to make extended use possible. Understandably PC is worried that the user will hurt themselves or someone else, so the safety advice is over-the-top which makes the manual very hard to read. There is good information in there, so persevere. As a practical matter, the tool will not fire until the safety is off and the nailing tip is pressed against the work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! Over the Top! I had to purchase a new brad nailer as my old one (20 years old) simply quit. This one appeared to be more than I needed, but I thought that I would give it a try, as Porter Cable tools have a good reputation. That was 2 months ago and a lot of use with the full spectrum of sizes of brads. It has not missed a beat and works better than I could have imagined. "With all the features it has, I cannot imagine it not meeting the needs of anyone, except perhaps a hardcore professional. This is a true gem and I only wish I had bought it sooner. What a relief it has been in my woodworking shop. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Cordless Finish Nailer but... Hi, I Just bought this Porter Cable unit on sale, it's really "night and day" from using a normal Air compressor & nailers. It's just quiet!!! It also has very useful LED lights.. The reason it didn't get 5 stars, Porter cable doesn't include a Case or even bag with this Finish nailer, your only options on searching online or hoping a store has a case that fit's this unit. Also I find the tool "top heavy"sometimes and I also own a Paslode 16G Finish nailer and don't experience those weight issues like the Porter cable unit. Also being Cordless the unit takes 1-2 sec before it fires the nail. It's a wonderful & quiet Nailer for installing baseboard, crown, casing etc

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love it/Hate it This tool is quite handy and has saved me many times when I need to tack something in place until I get a screw or real nail into the wood.I love having it. Unfortunately, I also hate it. The battery runs out after about 50 shots. I've never seen it fully charged. I once had it on the charger for 3 hours and the light was still blinking. It lasted about 30 minutes after that. My Makita batteries last for hours and I use them all the time. The simple answer would be to buy another back up battery but I just don't use it enough to justify the cost. The battery I got really should charge quicker and last longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Daily use for contractors. As a finish carpenter, this gun is overall a good tool but has a few drawbacks. The price is nice. More affordable than most cordless nailers on the market. It accepts all brands of straight 18 gauge nails. The battery life is OK, not great but definitely not as bad as some other reviewers have mentioned. They also sell a high capacity battery that is probably better. It shoots through pine, mdf and other soft materials no problem. I have had some issues tacking oak and maple trim. Sometimes it's just not strong enough for those harder materials, even with a full charge. Also, some wandering issues that are common with most nailers. It's kind of bulky, doesn't stand up well on its own, and can be difficult to nail inside corners on base trim. Not great for tight spots. Overall, for the price, it works. For most applications, you will have no problems, especially if you're a DIYer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tool ever!! I am an older woman and I was quite worried that I would not be able to hold and control this but it was so easy! I bought it to install the quarter round molding after putting laminate flooring down. It shot the nails smoothly and with no discernible kick back which I thought would happen. After all the old trim I have replaced, I regret not having gotten this sooner. It looks bulky but it is very, very easy to use.
