Rated 2 out of 5 by from start up I would give this product an Excellent review but for one important thing. The Compressor will not start when temp. is 50 and below. The overload switch keeps coming out. I have this Compressor set up on a timer and with my old unit I never had to go and reset the over load. When the temp is above 50 everything works very good, It keeps air built up good and runs much quilter than my old Compressor. This is my second unit in 10 days and no difference. Has the same problem. I took a long look around and it is not only me, but others have the same problem. The ones that live in Fl. Have no problem. Wonder why?? One of the things dewalt talks about is that the unit has oil lub. for cold starts. There is work to be done to make this unit ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! Quiet! I have now owned 4 different compressors, 5 including this one. Out of all 5 this has been the best compressor yet! It runs quite a bit quite than all of the others that I have owned and gives great power. I used it primarily for framing houses with an Hitachi Framing nailer and then with some finish nailers. No problems so far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cold starts This review is to let customers who are complaining about cold starting this compressor. I’ve own this type of compressor for over 25 years. Your problem with cold starts is not the compressor, it’s the amperage in which you are trying to run it from. This compressor to run at peak performance should be plugged in to a 20 amp recepticle. This would be one like your frig, your washer or any other large appliance that has a dedicated circuit installed for it. A typical 15 amp circuit will work if it’s dedicated to only one outlet. It does need more amperage when it’s cold to start. Eliminate extension cords, and circuits that have other items plugged in to it or circuits with other outlets that are on the same circuit. This is a professional tool and it pulls a lot of amps. Especially at start up. Sure it’s a pain sometimes, but it’s something we just have to deal with. You shouldn't buy a heavy duty tool and expect it to function properly when it’s power source is insuficient for that tool! We don’t buy a new car or truck then put water in the gas tank and expect it to start. You are essentially doing the same thing by plugging it in a insufficient power source. So don’t always blame the tool sometimes you need to look at the power source for that to. My 4-star rating is not because of cold start up issues but of the availability of replacement parts. It’s a short list of parts available. That’s especially disturbing for a tool that is still in production.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great So far so good with this compressor. I bought it to replace an old one of a different brand that failed on me. Keeps up great with framing guns, witch to be honest I was a little concerned about but all for nothing..... Very pleased with it and I like the compact design so it doesn't take up allot of room in my trailer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty Unit 5 years of moderate use and still kicking. Bolts and screws have come loose and ive lost 2/4 now on the top black plate. Upgraded the bolts on the tires for a whopping 4bucks and shes all good. Super well built but its heavy. Great for big to medium size projects as it is absolutely massive and heavy. Only gave it 4 stars cause it could/should have more CFM for a unit of this proportions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great build quality, poor performance. I have had mine for about 10 years now. It is handy, fairly quiet and useful for filling tires. It is not capable to run power tools or blow out sprinkler systems at all. More like 1cfm at 90psi, not 4cfm.
