2-in-1 Single-Line Electric Trimmer and Edger - 4.4 A - 13" is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long lasting I have one of these that is over 20 years old. It was my Grandpa's. But I was the one who mowed his grass. when he died I got it and I still use it every week during the growing season. It'll handle big jobs and little jobs with ease. The only trimmer I have ever used that had more power was a commercial gas unit on my Aunt and Uncles farm. I love this trimmer. It is more reliable a lot of people know. ( wich if you've met these folks isn't setting the bar very high I know. lol! ) Some day when it dies, I will be sad and miss it because it has been a trusty old friend and I've been using it at this point for a little more than half my life. I've had it so long it almost needs a name.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, powerful Bought this a few weeks ago, used it 3 times so far. I've read all the reviews saying electric trimmers don't give you enough power, get gas powered ones. Here's the issue, I held the gas ones and without gas, it was so heavy! And trimmers are inherently bottom heavy, so you are reaching out with your arms, holding something up where its heavy at the bottom. Talk about bad posture! So I decided to give this corded one a try. Immediate reaction, WOW, this is light. My wife agrees. Power: plugged it into my extensino cord, turned it on, whao, its powerful! I could feel the torque kick at me when you turn it on, now I've never used a gas trimmer before, but I can't imagine how much more power you need to cut grass and trim edges?? This trimmer is already making a mark on my plastic flower bed edge fence, so I had to be careful, holding it just at the right distance away. So, weight again plays an important part. If it was heavier, holding it like that for awhile would hurt my back. So power wise, I see no issues. It cut my weeds, long grass, en some dead small branches (just for fun). I wore closed toe shoes and goggles beause it was that fast. Best of all, no gas to fill or "winterize for storage", and no $100 battery to replace in a year or two. Price: how can you beat this price? Less than $60. Sometimes even on sale. So I see no reason not to buy this. I used a credit card that 2x the warranty, so I'm all set. Heck, how long do you expect a $60 machine to last?? People are willing to change their $600 cell phones every 1.5 yrs, figure that. Light weight is the best thing about this trimmer. Power is not a problem at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very powerful, great value I wanted a corded trimmer so I don't have to worry about charging batteries that will last me a couple of years and then need to be replaced. I reluctantly bought this unit thinking that it may not be powerful enough. When I first plugged it in I was amazed at how powerful it is. It is well built and the trimmer can be flipped to cut horizontally or vertically, but the handle has a fixed length. The secondary handle also is fixed. Both of these are not a problem for me because it fits my height perfectly. I am 175cm. I am giving it 4 star because of the left hand handle cannot be adjusted. Also it only has one cutter. I saw a similar product for the same price with two plastic threads on both sides. Nevertheless I am keeping this one because I tried it and I like it. It really blasts the lawn off the edges.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great trimmer. Is light weight and gets the job done. Price is amazing! Only concern is my extension cord keeps unplugging from unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful Old School Very powerful for the price. Be sure to get a cord that locks in place. Very good value for money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not built to last This is my second Black&Decker grass trimmer in the last 4 years and this will be my last. For me, they literally have died, right when the warranty has ended. The first one was a seized bearing for the motor and the second the motor died all together. I meticulously take care of my tools and equipment, following care instructions, to a tee. Not very impressed with how disposable these units are. Save your money and invest it in something that will last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight Hubby and I used to have a Stihl gas powered trimmer. It was strong and did the job well, but then it quit running (had for a long time). It was always too heavy for me to use as I am small framed and 112 pounds. I can handle this electric trimmer much better, though it's never been a chore I like! Hubby can use it quickly and it did work well, except for the fact that it went through quite a lot of string. Overall, good for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simple, lightweight and does the job My old electric trimmer died after many years (a different brand) and I bought this as a replacement. There are not many options out there anymore for pluggable electric (most choices are gas or battery). I have a fairly big yard and always trim the edges before mowing the lawn. I'm mostly just cutting grass & the occasional weed (nothing too heavy) and this did the job perfectly. It's simple and easy to use and would buy again.
