Combination Plunge and Fixed-Base Router - 2.25 HP is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 106.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality router with a few minor flaws Solidly built, variable speed, the quality is very good. Height adjustment is smooth and easy to use. Only little things: the base does not support PC templets without some kind of adapter. Tried to deal with this by putting on a third-party base I had, which worked, but the 4 screw holes on the unit were nonstandard so even though the aftermarket base had a lot of holes, I could only get two screws in. There's no button to stop the shaft from turning - they give you two wrenches instead. They give you a key to adjust router height from above the table, but it only fits in Bosch router tables. Love the wood handles. Case is nice too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Router This router performs beautifully, especially when mated with the Bosch RA1171 router table. I have used this combination to build a deluxe redwood potting shed (all wood nails, no screws, no metal hardware) for my wife, and it definitely made the whole project much more professional looking. Cutting rabbets, dados, roundovers and more is a joy. I mounted the router and table to the top of a Waterloo SP-PC3BK 3-Drawer Project Center, making it portable...with storage! I highly recommend this router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasted longer than Porter Cable I use this router on mostly hard woods with industrial router bits larger than 2 1/4 inch. With the correct router bits it achieves a clean edge effortlessly. To the person who posted the height adjustment is to the rear of the router, you can rotate the router so the hole in the top of the router labeled depth adjustment matches the rod attached to the depth control. This is a very thought out product if matched with the Bosch Table. It just fits in both ways. The router itself has a key to the Depth adjuster so you can adjust the height on the table top instead of messing around under the table. This is the best tool if bought with the Bosch router table you can purchase from a box retail store unless you build your own. Unfortunately Bosch router bits are not so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great router I am very satisfied with the power and variable speed. It would be nice if they could design a router that you did not have to take one hand off a handle to switch in on and off, but this switch is very easy to use and can be used by either the left or right hand. The micro depth adjustment is really accurate and you can do it with ease above the table with the supplied allen tool. I was able to match a preexisting bead from another router with the greatest of ease. The bits extract very easy if you loosen the nut as in the instructions. One of my old routers has a locking shaft, but I prefer using the two wrenches to tighten and loosen the bits, I feel that I have more control than trying to hold the router with one hand while loosening with the other, particularly if I have tightened the bit to tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Time Router User - Easy as can be I purchased the combo kit several weeks ago and made a few practice cuts just to get the hang of it. Since then I have been using it several times per week in combination with a MilesCraft Design Kit to create custom designs. I have been amazed at how quick and easy this router was to use. This has quickly turned into one of my favorites. And as always you can count on a quality product from Bosch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I have been trying to find a router that I could mount to my routing table for over a year. I finally found one that was easy to install and easy to operate. This router is amazing for a beginner such as myself. It is easy to get used to and doesn’t get too difficult to control when operating it. I have used lots of routers trying to learn the art of using these machines, but by far this one has been the easiest. I can’t wait to start on my list of projects that I keep imagining in my head. With this router those images will be able to come to fruition. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent choice After years of using an underpowered router marketed to the home user, I stepped up to this professional quality tool. I was not disappointed. It cuts through hardwood like it was butter. The softstart and electronic control circuitry make it easy to control, and the two bases let me put the fixed base in my router table and use the plunge base for hand work. The only thing I would have added was a spindle lock so bits could be changed with one wrench. I have several other Bosch tools and they are all of high quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't look anywhere else !!!!!!!! I do a lot of trim and finish work and did my research on many routers on the market, hands down bosch makes the best router there is. period. The micro adjust is just that, minimal increments are a breeze when it is used under my homemade router table (RA1250 mounting plate) . The plunge is base is effortless and the adjustments are simple. Soft start is a bonus, no violent jerks. If you want clean, smooth cuts from a router that blows away other brands......
