Cordless Angle Grinder - 4.5'' - 20 V is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Angle Grinder I had been looking for! The new line of 20 volt Craftsman tools is really something special. Lithium ion batteries which last a longgggggg time and even have an indicator on them so you know when to charge them! I had a plug in grinder that got damaged when I loaned it out to a good friend. He is not such a good friend anymore and you better believe I will not be loaning this puppy out to anyone. The grip screws on and you have multiple locations to place it making it easy if you want an odd angle or are left handed. My only complaint about this line is that some of the tools do not come with a battery so be careful when ordering! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from angle grinder Works great. 2 amp battery lasts a long time. The 4 amp battery lasts more than twice as long. Love these Craftsman tools. Dewalt replacement wheels seem to work fine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Porter Cable Guts in a Red Plastic Shell Not that it's a bad thing, but it's just a relabeled Porter Cable grinder that has been on the market for years. It would have been nice to see a brushless grinder relabeled from Dewalt's parts bin. I guess Black and Decker doesn't want Craftsman to compete with their top tier brand Dewalt, so it's left for Craftsman and Porter Cable to duke it out. You'll need at least a 4amp hour battery to run this thing as a 2amp or smaller will safety shutoff anytime you put a load on the tool.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight performance Product is comfortable to use but lacks power. I have had the grinding wheel stop many times while grinding. This product is not suited for heavy duty use. But size and weight for a battery powered tool is good for light duty [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value For Price Point For the price point, this is a great battery operated angle grinder. If you buy one, be sure you already have a battery and charger to use with it. If you do not have one, check out the grinder with charger and battery included. Even it's price is a great deal! With it's lower end maximum RPMs, 8500 max, please note that this would be a medium duty grinder. Pros: 3 Handle Mounting Positions (Left, Right, Top) allowing you to use this tool comfortably in almost any position 5/8-11 Mounting Arbor allowing compatibility with nearly all angle grinder accessories like wire brushes, etc Battery Operated (No Need To Be Close To A Power Source) Tool Guard is able to be moved to work comfortably and safely in almost any position Spindle Lock is easily accessible making disc or brush changes a breeze (nearly tool-less unless you really crank it down with the spanner wrench) Cons: One single speed of operation. If you lock down the guard with the snap ring handle close to the tool body, it is almost impossible to unlatch by hand without removing the disc/cup first or using a prying tool. (No Room To Access) The trigger is a little touchy. If you do not completely depress the trigger firmly and quickly, the tool will come on then shut itself off even if you continue to press the trigger completely ON. Very touchy to slow trigger pulls. The lock switch seems very hard to switch into the unlock position. It works but it seems a lot more pressure is needed to switch from locked to unlocked than it takes to go from unlocked to locked. All in all, it's a wonderful tool for the price point. First job I did with mine was to strip all rust/paint off of an old Prentiss Bull Dog vise for a restoration project. Was able to complete removal of the entire vice with one 4Ah Battery pack. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
