Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to any garage or workshop I have been using a single drill/driver from manufacturers like Black and Decker and Ryobi for years. I have some bigger projects planned and figured it was a good time to upgrade. Chances are you already have a drill in your toolbox/garage, so what’s so special about this set and why should you consider getting them? First of all, just having two tools is such a time saver. No more wasting time switching bits. There’s nothing like having the “right tools for the job”. Both tools feel great in hand (balanced, not too heavy) and seem well made (Made in the USA with Global Materials). Aside from a tire gauge. I have never had issues with Craftsman tools and if these give me trouble, they are backed by a 3 year warranty. 20V batteries provide plenty of power and brushless motors provide extra runtime and durability. The first task for these tools was to mount the charger on my block garage wall. Using the drill’s hammer setting made this super easy, and the impact drove in the tapcons with power I am not used to. Some other little bonuses...The LED lights is actually useful. Previous drills I’ve used that have had a light only illuminate when the trigger is pressed, these say on for 20 seconds after. Each battery has a charge indicator. A button on the battery can give you a quick indication of battery left. VersaTrack hooks are included if you own the system. A small carry bag is included as well. I will be on the lookout for brushless offerings for other tools (so far it’s just the drill/driver) to add to my collection. I am pretty impressed with the power and hope that the improved durability lives up to the claims. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shockingly GREAT set of the 2 tools you need! My first thought upon picking these up was that they were cheap and would never been good enough... because they were _SO_ light. Man, was I ever completely wrong! They're so light that they almost feel like toys, but it didn't take long to figure out they are a workhorse and have more power than my other 20v brand (they're black and yellow) and they put my 12v drill to absolute shame. This is a set of the 2 tools you really need, a HAMMER DRILL and an IMPACT DRIVER. The best part about these is that they are BRUSHLESS, so you get more runtime and longer life / more durability. I expect this to be the last set I buy for many many years. These are very well balanced, with the normal thin and light 20v battery keeping them securely upright. Besides how strong these are, the features list is long: - both have led lights (that stay on for awhile after releasing the battery) - multi-speed (3 on drill, 2 on driver) - batteries charge in 90 minutes and have a 3 yr warranty - batteries have charge indicator built in - comes with nice bag that actually fits the tools and charger with plenty of extra room - wall mountable charger included These come with a Versatrack mount, but unfortunately the belt mount in optional. I would have much rather had a belt clip included instead of Versatrack. One other wish for these would be for a side handle to provide some stabilization. I love supporting a product that is MADE IN THE USA, even if it is made from foreign parts. I wholeheartedly recommend this combo set! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Craftsman Cordless Combo Kit The Craftsman Cordless 20v lithium battery drill and impact driver are an excellent value and I would rate the initial quality as very high. I had a previous version of the drill and I have to say this one is a significant improvement in technology and quality. Lithium batteries should give it a considerable power source. Lowe’s and Craftsman seem to have a winner here. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One week, great drills I have been using these Craftsman drills for a solid week now with a direct comparison to a well known yellow and black competitor. In my humble opinion, I may like the Craftsman better! I know, hard to believe. If you look at pics, you'll see the Craftsman are a little larger and I think a little stronger. the drill has a hammer drill setting that works amazingly well and also a metal Chuck. It holds bits very well and the LED is positioned in a better location then y&b. Batteries lasted long and strong, charged quickly and also have a meter to show level of charge just like the other. After using these to bore out a 3" hole through the subfloor and running plex through walls and rafters and hanging sheet after sheet of drywall throughout the week, I must say it's nice to see some needed improvements compared to the job site standbys. Nice job Craftsman! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Craftsman V20 Brushless 2-Tool Combo Kit The Craftsman V20 Brushless 2-Tool Combo Kit has plenty of power. I'm building a new food truck and the drill is strong and keeps a steady speed while drilling threw stainless steel for holes for reviets. The driver has plenty of torque as well. I like this combo because it's light weight. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Drill Set (wow) Wow. The Craftsman hammer drill and impact driver set is a must for any workshop. Wow. We tried out both the hammer drill and impact driver set and were impressed with the design, performance , and ingenuity of both tools. The impact driver set was easy to adjust speed on with the simple three speed variable near the base and the quick release chuck was simple to use. The seemless integration of led lights (bright!) at the chuck don’t interfere with your work and provide ample light. The chuck also can stop on a dime ... which is impressive. The hammer drill is a great complement to the impact driver. We found the drill to be reliable and a workhorse - as one would expect from Craftsman. The keyless chuck works great, and controls are intuitive. We were also pleased that there were two batteries included in the set - not one to share between both drills. Both batteries charge quickly and hold their charge. Overall, wow. We were impressed by this drill set. Having used Craftsman for a number of years, this drill set meets and exceeds expectations for a Craftsman product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Upgrade from my M18 Today I retired my shop-worn 9-year-old M18 Milwaukee Drill for a new Crafstman 20-Volt Brushless hammer drill (CMCD721) and companion brushless impact driver. Compared to a new Milwaukee M18 Fuel, specs-wise the Craftsman was always a bit faster, lighter, more powerful, and less costly. It also sports several subtle design improvements. PROS – Brushless technology means noticeably lighter heft without sacrificing power. Like the Milwaukee, the batteries (you get 2) have charge indicators. I was able to mount the new charger in the same wall space as my old M18 charger (see pic). IMPROVEMENTS: In contrast to my M18 (see pic), the Craftsman’s torque adjustment collar is bigger and easier to grip. Craftsman put the work light in the base vs above the trigger, which avoids covering the light with your hand when steadying the drill. Also, the Variable speed control is more precise and responsive. A subtle improvement is that Craftsman’s bit jaws are longer and pointy, which means I can get a tight grip on very thin bits using a ½” chuck, and leave my Dremel in the drawer. Lastly, when grabbing the M18 from behind to steady it, my hand trapped more heat than the new Craftsman. BONUS - The impact driver is a great backup for driving 3-inch screws into 4 x 4s or 4 inch screws into joists – like when re-decking. It was a bit of a wow experience. CONS – No accessories yet. My M18 allowed replacing the belt clip with an optional clip to hold 3 hex bits. The M18 Fuel has a detachable steadying handle. Doubtless B&D will come up with one soon for their new Craftsman line. They really help when using a holesaw. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
