My snowblower is not throwing snow as far as it used to.  Sometimes the auger won’t engage.  If I tilt the blower slightly by pushing the handles upwards and the front of the blower closer to ground it seems to work better.  What could be the issue?

Asked by: KUmarsingh
I have only used this snow blower 3 times this winter. The first time it worked well however when I went to start it the second time, I had to take a heat source out to thaw the ice around the intake wheel/auger, The machine is built in a way that allows melted snow and then ice to accumulate and freeze around the intake auger making it stall as soon as you engage it. Since then, when I shut it off, I raise the back wheels so the water will run out. The second and now finally third time I used it (two days ago), I had to repeatedly push the machine forward to get the wheels to engage. I will be calling Lowe's in the hope they will allow me to return it.

Are the shear pins for the second stage auger the same as the shear pins for the first auger?

Asked by: KimEJ
Nope, the second used a stand bolt, not a shear pin. I have my second stage spinner damaged by a rock. It bent the spinner badly, but those bolts are not been sheared at all.

Hi does in come with the electric extension cord to plug in for the electric start, and I am getting it assembled at the store, so will the engine oil be in it and will I just have to add gas to start and use it.

Asked by: Phinner
Mine came with the cord, but any one will do. I haven’t used the electric start as it starts in first pull everytine I use it. I had it assembled as well, I don’t recall if I had to add the oil or not. You can always ask them when you pick up or check the dip stick before first use.

Dual Stage Snowblower - Steel - 27" - 250 cc - Noble Grey is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Snowblower, easy to use and powerful! I purchased this Snow Blower on Boxing day and took advantage of the $400 in savings. It was assembled at Lowes and was in great working condition. The staff was very helpful and made sure that it was topped up with oil and advised me on a gas conditioner to use. With this being my first Snowblower purchase, and living in Barrie, I was worried about how it would handle the snow that piles up at the end of the driveway from the plows flying by. Snow, slush, ice, go through this machine like butter! The controls are super easy to use as well. I highly recommend this blower!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Machine I bought this machine a year ago after doing a little research online. I also watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to start and maintain this snow blower. From what I recall, the machine was assembled when it was delivered, which was very convenient. The only adjustments I made was to lift the auger level slightly to ensure there was no possibility the blades will hit my driveway surface. That was very easy to do. This machine has started instantly using the electric start every time. I use Mobil 1 5W-30 synthetic oil and a fuel stabilizer. The manual recommends using Briggs & Stratton 5W-30. So far, a very good purchase. There is enough torque to clear away heavy snow. The chute control is very easy to use and I was surprised at how far it throws the snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice machine! Works like a beast through deep snow. Had multiple snowstorms right after buying it on sale at Christmas and it performed well. It went through the heavy, nasty pile the snowplow left at the end of the driveway with no problem. Had so much fun I did all my neighbors' driveways. As for assembly - it was no problem. Had it put together with my son in -5C temps in about a half hour following Ikea-like instructions. If you have trouble with assembling things, Lowe's will actually do it for you at no charge, but you might have to wait a couple of days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive I bought this beast a month ago when we had about 20 inches of wet snow. In the first 20 minutes I ran into my dogs rope toy, the machine jammed and quit immediately. After about 15 minutes of cutting the toy free I fired the blower up again and ran it for another 2 hours. I was expecting this thing to stall out, maybe break a shear pin, or even plug up but no dice. The harder I pushed into the deep wet snow the farther it threw the white stuff. I just finished running it for another two hours with no hiccups. I felt I needed to wright a reveiw on this machine so here are my five stars. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine I bought this Briggs & Stratton 250cc after much research. My son and I put it together this past weekend and that was a snap! Great instructions. We had a bit of trouble starting it the first time, I was expecting that, so used the starter and there was no messing around there! Starts great now, just one pull. Can't wait for the snow now., I'll update after we use it for a couple of months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought it at the right time, and so glad I did I saw a great deal on this back in October, but rather than wait for bad weather, I knew I couldn't pass up this deal. Havent seen anything as good since. Lowes even assembled it for free. Only had 2 snowfalls so far, but it is still early. Fires up great and works amazing! Love it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money Terrible my 15 year old snowblower can run circles around this. I feel like I’m pushing 300 lbs down the driveway. It gets stuck in the snow. Hardly blows snow out the chute. What used to take me 15 minutes with my old snowblower now takes me over an hour. I would love to return this and just buy a shovel. I wouldn’t even rate it one star
