Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adequate trimmer Bought this hedge trimmer to replace my 27 year old B&D trimmer that finally broke. I wanted a cordless trimmer but could not justify the additional cost for the charger and batteries. I chose this model because of price, light weight, and experience with my past B&D trimmer. This model handled medium and small bushes with no effort. Much quieter and less vibration than my old model. Blades are very sharp and trim very well. This model comes with a saw blade tip feature to cut thicker branches. I don’t know how often I will use this feature and wish Lowes had the other model without this feature. Overall, I am very pleased with this trimmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from BLACK+DECKER 3.8 Amps 20-in Corded Electric Hedge My old 16" B&D trimmer finally broke down after many years of service and My hedge had gone wild after several weeks. I picked this up yesterday. It's decent and got the job done, It's not too noisy and doesn't vibrate too much. Something I noticed as you hold it, the right side of the blade seems to cut just a bit better than the left. The little sawblade on the tip so far seems useless though, on a fresh branch it just shakes it even if you hold it. maybe on a dry branch it might do better. Not a deal breaker though. One thing to note is you can't lock it to the on position like the old ones, you have to keep the trigger pulled for it to run.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design This Black and Decker trimmer has a big design flaw. At the end of the cutting bar where the orange metal takes a 90 degree angle, there is no cutting tooth. As you try to trim. branches of shrubs hang up in that slot. You find yourself cutting over and over, jerking the trimmer through the shrub. Also, that saw tooth cutter at the end doesn't do a very good job - the branch will vibrate against the cutter forever until you lose patience and cut the branch with something else. We had a 10-year old Black and Decker that was better than this new trimmer. We did return this hedge trimmer to Lowe's and picked a different brand of trimmer. Sorry Black and Decker but you didn't take your prototype on a trial run!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worthless Saw Feature Saw feature is useless. Does not cut through anything and effectively shortens the trimmer length. I have to swing trimmer from left to right to keep saw from hanging up on bush ( my preferred trimming motion is from right to left) this makes trimming a little more cumbersome than necessary. I would not have bought this model trimmer if I had read the reviews first. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fair Just bought this trimmer to replace a 15 year old, dull trimmer. This one is only mildly better than my old one, and the saw on the end is more of a hinderance than help as it gets caught on branches and Doesn't saw anything at all. Claims it will saw 3/4" branch, but it doesn't cut even the smallest branch. The trimmer will cut through branches bigger than the saw, so that feature is useless. Considering returning this...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hedge Trimmers This Black & Decker trimmer is amazing. It was super easy to attach the handle and guard. I was using this product within 5 minutes "Out of the box!" I would highly recommend this product for it's ease of use and price point. I've added a picture of the hedges I trimmed and it worked better than I could ever expect! Rated 5 out of 5 by from light hedge trilmmer IT HAS WORKED OUT PERFECT FOR MOST HEDGE TRIMMING. NO FUEL TO BUY AND STORE. LONG REACH FOR DEEP SHRUBS AND I ALREADY HAD THE LONG CHORDS. MY OLD ONE WAS RECHARGEABLE BATTERY AND NEVER LASTED LONG ENOUGH TO FINISH ALL THE TRIMMING. NO PROBLEM WITH THAT NOW. ALSO, IT IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO CUT MOST TWIGS AND ALL LEAFS. THE SAW EXTENSION IS HANDY FOR THE THICKER BRANCHES AND NOT TOO DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. THE SAW ATTACHMENT NEEDS TO BE OFF WHEN DOING VINE TYPE SHRUBS OR ELSE IT WILL SNAG ON LEFT SWIPES. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for small jobs The trimmer worked great on small shrubs, but couldn't get the thicker ones. I should have bought a bigger one to handle all the jobs, but I won't use it enough to pay the higher price. It does it's job!
