Rated 2 out of 5 by from Button Plastic Broke I bought this product two months ago and had it installed. We must have used it less than 20 times and the button part broke. The quality of the plastic is terrible, and it cracked and fell apart. So far there were no issues with the other parts of the product. I wish I could buy a different button switch as I'm wary that any replacement will hold up for any length of time. Interestingly enough, while trying to get a replacement part from Home Depot (where I bought it - but original garburator was bought from Lowes) I learned that the product has been discontinued. I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of the reason why! So, right now I have a 1/2 broken product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean and Easy to Use I was looking to install a hot water filtration system but only had an outlet for the disposer. This handy little device prevented me from calling an electrician. Easy upgrade!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not recommended for the Hearing Impaired This device works well except the hearing impaired can't tell when it's on or off. They tend to accidentally leave it running since there isn't an indicator light and the unit runs so quietly. Which for normal hearing is great. Would like to be able to figure out a way for them to know when on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant accessory for the kitchen I have two sink top switches in my kitchen, one at the sink and one on an island sink. They are easy to operate and provide an elegant option instead of a standard wall switch to turn the disposer on and off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy of operation, installs quickly, and best of all works! Pros easy to plug install , if you have an outlet. Safe to operate in a wet sink. Can be located where you want it. It works and is durable. Cons: must have an existing electrical outlet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must have if you have garbage disposal unit This is a Must have addition to garbage disposal unit installed and connected under the sink. There is NO electrical connection between switch and ‘black box’. Switch pushes air through the provided tube connecting ‘switch’ and ‘black box’ which turns actual switch inside ‘black box’ on and off. Very safe! Do not damage air tube or system will not work. Little drawback is that water could and will accumulate inside the button you mount into (onto) sink and it could be annoying when you press it to get little spray of water coming from the button. But after 10 years of using this ‘switch’ it does not bother me at all as it never failed and works 100% of the time. Yes, it needs power outlet as some complain. How do you think it will work anyway?. If you have garbage disposal - you need AC power. Potential improvements: - back lit button as assistance for hearing impaired - waterproof button (‘switch’ you mount onto sink) so it does not accumulate water you are splashing around when using sink - lower price
