This Husqvarna ST 224 snowblower is a great choice for occasional snow removal from 4 inches to 12 inches (10 cm to 30 cm). It has a two-stage 208 cc motor, six forward speeds, one reverse speed, and a friction-disc transmission for smooth and powerful operation. The electric-start snow thrower has adjustable skid shoes that work on any type of surface. The handle is height adjustable and the grips are heated for comfortable use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good But Not Great I bought this blower to replace a 20 year old Ariens 8hp 24" that I had. I've used this through 8 storms ranging from 4-5" to 20". I found that this unit does well up to maybe 8", but beyond that it bogs down, especially if the snow is wet. It has no where near as much power as my old Ariens. Another thing I found disappointing is how flimsy the auger assembly is. There is lots of slop in the bearings on the end of the auger shaft and I have encountered quite a bit of vibration any time the augers encounter snow of any depth. If I had it to do over I would spend more and get a better quality blower, so I gave it a "no" on would I recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product problems ST224 After using only a couple of times I had to replace the scraper bar on the bottom due to excessive wear. This bar is not hardened metal and wears out quickly. The height adjusting brackets on the side are part of the problem. They are made of plastic and wear quicker than the blade and as a result any difference in surface will result in a jarring blow when hit. The engine is adequate and takes on some of the heaviest snow. The blower is not easy to turn. The next model up has turn assist but is considerably more expensive. If the blade was better quality and the adjusting brackets were metal this would be a good product. Engineering leaves something to be desired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this product Got 4 inches of heavy wet snow yesterday. My wife bought this snow blower but it was too late to get it going last night. Fired it up during lunch today and it ripped through the icy snow. Liked the idea of electric start, but used the pull start just to see. Started on the first pull. It does a great job chopping the snow and blowing it out. It doesn't like ice but I didn't expect it to cut through the icy chucks frozen on the driveway. I like the metal construction as opposed to the plastic parts on competing brands. We were also happy that it rang up $50 lower than marked at the register. Engine started easily, ran smoothly and sounded strong, even chopping through ice chunks. Happy with this purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke on the third use It is a good thing we had a very mild winter here in New England because I bought this snowblower and it broke on the third use. None of the snowstorms was anything more than 6 inches and I even went out twice during that snowstorm to ensure I wasn't overloading the machine. I took it to a local dealer to get it repaired and they are waiting over a week for parts from Husqvuarna. They also said they couldn't get a part from Husqvuarna (the belt cover) and they would "just straighten it out". I am not going to a "straightened out" part on a brand new snowblower. I called Husqvuarna and the rep (Randy) wouldn't even look up the part for me, but instead would only email me a parts list so I could look it up myself. Not great customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased Bought this blower as a gift for myself and also at the urging of my wife after my fourth shoulder rebuild. I went through the instructions to familiarize myself with the machine. Filled the tank, pumped the primer three times and gave a tug on the pull handle. It fired right up. I then put it to work. This thing is a beast. Heavy wet and packed snow was chewed up and thrown with ease. I'm very happy with this product and would highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 24 inch hasqvarna snowblower This machine is the best snowblower I have ever bought. It chews right thru 5 inches with no problem and this snow was heavy threw it probably 40 feet. Scrapes right down to the pavement. The reverse speed is a little slow but works fine. The forward speeds you won't use the 6th speed it's just to fast I'm comfortable at number 4. This 208 cc engine is a beast does not bog down a bit in deep snow. I am now sold on husqvarna I will buy another of there products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blizzard tested , CHECK Well bought this one 3 days before blizzard 2016.I retired an old MTD model. This husqvarna did the job ran it for probably 5-6 hrs ,ran strong didn't bog down or stall. Controls are well placed We dealt with almost 30" actual and drifts above that. This machine worth every penny.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful! We have had this snow blower for two years and it has been nothing but a headache. The first one we got actually came with bent auger blades and wouldn't work. The one we have now has had to have the blades taken out and bent back into shape every couple of storms. While we do have a gravel driveway, in 20 years we have never had to worry about bent blades with either of our other two (second hand) snow blowers. The fact that you can take the second stage auger blades off and bend them back into shape by hand speaks volumes about the quality. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
