18" Cordless Chainsaw - 80 V Lithium-Ion - Green and Black is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skeptical I have used this for almost 1 year.Felled some large Eucs and a few smaller oaks. I have 3 batteries and keep charging while sawing.Use lots of thin bar oil ! Buy some spare chains, spare bar and the trick sharpener file .Use a depth gauge for the rackers/depth. A big advantage seldom mentioned is the very low noise level. It won't annoy your neighbors but fr more important if you are felling - you can hear the tree start to crack and bail .With a gas chainsaw ,the falling tree can be an unannounced surprise ! I also use a huge kinetic recovery rope to ensure the tree falls in the right direction. A huge Jameson slingshot on an 8 ft pole is another useful tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worked great first time I bought the 80 volt 18 inch chain saw. Great machine for me the first charge overnight it lasted about 30 minutes and all lights lit as full charge was at about 20 minutes. The oak log I cut laying on another log is 23 inches in diameter so it took two cuts to complete the next was a few branches and another couple pieces of the main trunk. I am very pleased with this unit. I like the quit operation. I will probably switch to an Oregon chain with a (what I think) better roller nose bar. Can't wait to have enough $$$ to buy another battery. Very strong cutter!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far has cut 3 winters worth of wood I am very happy with the results of this saw. We had a lot of storm damage a little over 3 years ago. So far I have cut all the wood for the last 3 winters with this saw. We heat our home only with wood and live in northern MN. It exceeded my expectations. I bought it thinking I would just use it in the yard. I prefer it over my gas chainsaw and use it all the time. I have multiple batteries so I can change them out when I am out in the woods to fill the truck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly Proven I am the owner of a Christmas tree lot. We trim and put a fresh cut on every tree we sell. In the past we have used gas operated saws, which have been problematic for employees to start, when you have a line of customers the last thing you want is a chainsaw that will not start. I was considering other options, when a customer / friend asked if I ever considered a battery operated chainsaw. I had not and was honestly a little skeptical that a battery operated saw would handle the demands. I was wrong, the 80V 18 inch battery operated saw was easier to use than the gas saws, no priming, no choking, no fueling, no pull starting, it was safer to use than gas, when you let go of the trigger the chain stopped. The limits of the battery was never tested due to it lasting the entire day of on and off use, it never got low on power. We used this saw on rainy damp days, cold days and the performance did not falter. I would not make any changes to this saw, it is a quality tool that far exceeded my expectations and did not fall short in any way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Initial impression. I first used this 80V saw to cut up some juniper for firewood, and was impressed by the overall performance of the saw. After about eight cuts of average 20" rounds that took about 15 minutes, the fully charged 2 Ah battery still had two lights showing. At 14.6 lbs with the 2 Ah battery the weight is very manageable, and I believe would be even with the 4 Ah battery. Battery recharge time is less than 30 minutes for the 2 Ah battery. Unlike the 40V #20312 Greenworks saw I have had for several years, the 80V saw does not have a variable speed trigger. This is disappointing to me because in some situations it is nice to be able to slow the chain speed. The tool in the handle is a loose fit and may fall out, should be a more positive "click in-click out" fit. Cannot comment on durability at this time, as I have not had a chance to use it much. Will leave more feedback after I have used the saw more extensively.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, more power then you expect This chainsaw is great to have around the house, especially when you have a lot of trees like I do. Only used it for about a total of 10 hours with very little trouble (chain wasn't tight enough and would pop off) . The battery life with the 2ah seems to last 45-60 minutes but by that time your arms get tired. I do have the 4ah battery also, I just don't use it with the chainsaw because of the weight. This was my first purchase of a Greenworks tool and I was so pleased that I got the 26" hedge trimmer and 580cfm blower.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stopped working I bought this tool last summer . Initially worked fantastic. Then battery wouldn't recharge so i bought a new battery. Charger wouldn't charge this either so I bought a new charger. New charger and new battery are so far charging fine. However, now the saw itself wont run. It starts and either shuts down and starts beeping immediately or runs for 10 seconds or so and then shuts down and beeps. Happy to take in to an authorized Greenworks dealer if i canfind one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bummed Wassapointed 2nd time out. Just used this morninng for third attempt. 3 cuts. 1 16" and 2 8" cuts. And its dead on fesh charge. Tool falls out of slot in handle. Box had no packaging in it? Manual was stuck to packaging tape. Was this a return? Just charged again and got less cuts then my last with smaller part of tree. Nedd to see about reeturn i guess.
