Kobalt Mitre Saw with Laser System - 12" - 15 A - Blue is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 114.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite miter I have had many miter saws that have burned out on me and gave me kick back. The Kobalt miter has a smooth cut and easy to use. The double bevel feature is also an awesome feature. Having the ability to get perfect double bevel cuts my customers a beautiful end product. I have used this for a lot of jobs thus far and have ran it for hours at a time with out of burning out. Also the miter saw has little saw dust so it’s good to use in closed spaces. I is also extremely light to carry. I would recommend buying the stand with wheels on it so it’s easier to pack and go. No complaints with this product. Rated 4 out of 5 by from As good as my old Dewalt I wanted to wait before my review. I have had it for a year and it is as good as my Dewalt. Before purchase I was told not to put much value on the laser. Good advice indeed. The laser just won't line up. I haven't turned it on in a year. I am giving it a 4-star rating because of the curve. If I cut a 14" board the blade path is not straight but curved. The curve is a hair less than 1/16" and to be fair my Dewalt did the same. Just like the Dewalt and others truing the blade is a stinker. Get it square then tighten the fence and watch it walk back. Someday some smart tool maker will make one with a bolt to make fine adjustments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mitre saw I have used many saws over the years. My old one finally gave up. Picked this up at lowes for a good price compared to other brands. Love the saw. Works great. Only negative is the safety switch built into the handle. It is a little hard to get use to. Usually its a button on most saws that needs to be held down while operating. This one requires you to push it forward before the saw can operate. Its not hard, but will take a little getting use to. Otherwise, its a nice saw. Blade changes are easy. I would buy it again. Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good I was so excited to add this saw to my wood shop because the front bevel adjustments But straight out the box the fence was out of square 3/16 and when it was on 0 on the neck bevel that also was out 1/8 and after reading the manual and spending 4 ours adjusting it to square the saw still cuts 1/16 out of square the saw I purchased just will not adjust straight or cut straight I will say I’m very disappointed because I like the idea of the front bevel adjustment so now after all the time put into adjustments I’m still gonna have to return the saw [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to say So the saw cuts well, and was unboxed with minimal fine tuning. The largest downside is the safety switch. Mine is currently broken, and was broke about 6 hours after use. I didn't sweat it, because i typically try to bypass them on my personal saws, but if it's a deal breaker for you, I wouldn't suggest it. The entire design of that switch is problematic so it's probably not isolated to just my saw. The other only slight downside is the sliding fences for the dual bevel feature. They're not crazy accurate. It will really only matter if you're cutting crown molding or something thicker. I don't do a lot of that, so once again not a problem personally. The stop depth feature is great, glad I got it, as its been so awesome to be able to multiple boards half lap joints at the time, without having to change up my table saw configuration, just lower the screw for depth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So much in one package at a great price point Upgraded from a standard 12" compound. This is a little heavier, but I mounted on a fold away stand and good to go. Love having the built in measuring guides along with the sliding stops. Also the hold in place clamp has been a lifesaver. Only complaints for me are the levers for the sliding guides seem a little cheap as well as the thumb safety and if you want some precise degree cut, the indicator does not line up exactly with the measurements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cut away, but watch blade change Checked out several Miter Saws. For the price had all the features I wanted. Easy to set up. Only thing I would recommend is that you look close when changing the blade. I struggled to get the guard out of the way. Instructions did not seem clear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good but bad safety design This is my 4th Kobalt saw but this one is not good. The safety switch on the handle is very difficult to operate. It hesitates to start at times and other times it does not release and saw keeps running. I'm pretty sure this is a hazard instead of being safe. Other than that it's a good saw. I'm returning it to the store for a different model as I don't feel comfortable using it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
