Lithium-Ion Battery - 20V Max is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lithium batteries are awful I bought a Dewalt grass trimmer. It is a great tool. I purchased 2 lithium 5 ah batteries to go with it. What a disappointment. The first summer it worked great. I could run at least 30 minutes on a charge. This summer, I might get 10 minutes. I have the old XRP nicad batteries for my hand tools. I bought them 8 years ago, and they are still going strong. Incredible. I bought the adapter to put the lithium batteries in the tools, thinking it would be a great upgrade to use them. Wrong. What a waste of money. I will not be buying any more Dewalt tools that use lithium batteries. I will use my nicads as long as I can, and if they die, I will be looking for another brand. This sucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Ridiculous Amount of Power! I used NiCad portable power tools in the 1980’s – and that proved to be a costly mistake. But not anymore. While these 5 amp-hr lithium batteries are perfect for truly high power uses, I use them in my drill and impact drivers too. I removed and replaced 200+ screws in my home's door hinges all with the impact driver, and it’s still showing full charge. Gotta love it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor warranty This is the third battery that quit working in less than a year. Get battery tools that have a better warranty on their batteries. If I did not have every Dewalt tool I would change to another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This grinder is great! I love this grinder! I have had it for 3 weeks and used and abused it daily. I've cut out metal basement window frames, cut tile, cut cast iron, nothing has proven too much for it. The cast iron cut did use up a couple batteries, but that is not a negative on the tool, it's just a tough job. I would definitely recommend this grinder to any pro looking for a portable yet powerful cordless grinder. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great battery Most days this one battery lasts all day, even on heavy use days only change once on impact or screw guns

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasts a lot longer These batteries just last so much longer than the skinny 20v. Great for the heavier load tools or just getting some more time out of your driver. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Acceptable I purchased a set of two 5 AH battery packs. I paid a decent price and expected longevity, ... After a few weeks I am not impressed, I am getting perhaps 45 minutes for removing grouth between tiles. So you change battery pack and after 45 more minutes you need a third pack ... I was expecting half day ... How many packs am I expected to purchase to get a full day work ... and I am retired I should not exceed one pack per day !!! I will have to get back to commenting as the situation may be worse within the warranty period. Michael

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AWFUL My husband bought the DeWalt cordless leaf blower for me with a 20v MAX 5 AH XR battery last week. I charged it. (Yes, I pressed it into the charger fully. Yes, it did click.) I used it ONE TIME. It lasted TWENTY MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It WILL NOT charge again. I asked for a leaf blower that takes a cord because of this kind of thing and because the batteries always die before the job is done. Listen to your wife!!! Now he is buying me one that takes a cord. smh
