Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this thing! Bought this to, believe it or not, to sand down my toenails. I have very thick toenails & manual toenail clippers took forever, so I went to a podiatrist who used a gadget to grind down my nails. Well, this thing looked pretty much like the dremel micro I saw on a commercial. So I bought the dremel, used it & my nails were done in no time at all. I love this thing!!! I might even have household things I could use this for, like sanding down some chipping paint on windowsills. I hate repeating myself, but I love this thing! I'm not even tool proficient. I should add that I'm female & 63yrs. old & have no experience with electrical tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Micro Dremel is versatile small tool I already owned two heavier duty Dremel tools (corded & cordless), but actually purchased this Micro Dremel for use as a nail trimmer/filer for our two pet dogs. Neither dog has ever tolerated well the use of a pet store trimmer or clipper, so I decided to try the Micro Dremel because of its compact size, light weight, variable speed and quiet operation. Needless to say, both dogs (a Chihuahua and a Pug) now calmly allow us to file their nails with the Micro with no anxiety whatsoever! Even though I do use it for smaller, more delicate woodworking projects, its primary purpose is now for our pets. The small lithium battery size is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An odd application but it really does the job. I bought this item for a single, rather odd, purpose. As an older guy I suffer from nasty toenails and have a really hard time trimming them. I have experimented with various clippers but didn't like using them or the results I got. I then acquired a battery operated (two C cells) device that works a bit like a low powered Dremel tool with a cylindrical sanding attachment designed for trimming the nails on dogs. It seemed promising but was too weak to be effective. Someone on a discussion board mentioned using a rechargeable Dremel tool for this so I thought I'd try it. The unit included a suitable cylindrical sanding attachment along with a number of other bits. It really does a great job. I no longer have to bend to reach as the tool does the job nicely from a comfortable distance. In addition it will be useful for other Dremel type tasks that I may encounter. The variable speed feature is nice and I use it at a fairly slow setting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not typical user Purchased to dremel dog's nails at a grooming salon. Got tired of the cheaper versions that don't stay charged or are cheaply made. Will stick with Dremel brand now & so far love this one!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loved it until it no longer would charge I bought this dremel and loved it. I really loved the light near the bits, however less than 6 months the tool would no longer charge. After go on line to read reviews it appears to be a very common issue. For the price I would expect it to last much longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST DREMEL TOOL EVER I am a pet groomer so I use this tool daily, but not all the time. I am on my 4th micro tool and I will never buy this one again. All of them end up dying on me and will not charge. I only kept buying them because the pet dremel is not powerful enough and this seemed to work best, besides the fact that in the middle of my day I have to turn down work because my tool fails to work randomly. Never again will I buy this and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this tool almost every day. I have this Micro Dremel tool sitting on my work bench and I use it for some task about every time I'm working on my bench. This unit has a nice small charging stand that takes up very little bench space so I have it set up permanently. I pick it up, put one of my many accessories in the chuck and use the Dremel. I then sit it back in the charger so it's always in the same place and always charged. This unit is only for the small jobs but that covers about 90% of what I use a Dremel for anyhow. It's slim and light and there are three LED's at the chuck that provide a nice amount of illumination. I have three other Dremel units, two with cords and one 9.6V rechargeable, and this my most frequently used Dremel. If I need to cut bolts, sharpen mower blades, or other heavy duty jobs this is not the right tool, but to wire wheel battery contacts or polish rust off a model train wheel it's perfect. The lithium battery provides a lot of power and even after 10 minutes of continuous running it's not died on me. The only thing I don't like is the position of the shaft lock button. The on-off button is right next to the lock button. If you are not paying attention you can press the lock button instead of the power button and that's a bad thing. When the lock button is pressed a pin goes into a hole drilled in the shaft. It's sort of like shifting your car into park while the car is moving. I've done it a few times and the unit still works fine but it's not something you want to do too often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for trimming dog's nails! My dog (golden retriever) would no longer allow us to trim her nails using our older Dremel model with cord. Upon advice from an online group, we purchased this new model. I love how she doesn't even realize that we are trimming her nails now! There's low noise from the device, with variable speeds (we're on lowest speed or one notch above). Currently still using 240 grit. Love the light so I can dremmel her nails in poorly lit areas and it also shows us where her quick is! Also love how easy it is to hold and the fact there's no cord to get in the way or being restricted to being near an electrical outlet.
