Mitre Saw - 10" - 15 A is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 96.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suitable for DIY Out of the box, the laser was accurate enough. This tool was purchased in order to do the finish work on a newly-purchased house, and it took some fine tuning to get the tool to cut square. It's fine now, because the red indicators are adjustable. Here's the problem: the indents for the "common" angles are not adjustable, including the zero. When I want a square cut, I have to go to the indent which is a few degrees off (very obviously not square), then press out of the indent to get to my self-adjusted true zero. It's inconvenient, but not the end of the world. I would have expected that indent to be the most accurate of any of them. Bottom line: this is a good tool, but you will need to fine tune even the simplest things about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well blow me down! Okay, so I went to the store to buy something very small and to get the chance to show my wife a compound miter saw I was wanting for some projects she wanted me to do. I showed her the one I wanted ($100.00 less than this one) and explained all of its features and how it would help me. She listened, then began perusing the other compound miter saws in the store. SHE settled on this one. I'm glad she did! It's been a great addition to my small shop, taking the time and effort out of many projects it is well suited for. Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a fine saw! I traded up from my SM2507LW because of the miter lock not holding tight. This has a tight miter cam style lock which works beautifully. The blade was square right out the box. The laser doesn’t require tools and can be adjusted to land the blade directly on the line. The build quality is very nice and beefy. The dual beveling is easy to adjust without reaching behind the blade. It’s only 30 dollars more than my previous saw but in many ways so much better. Highly recommended!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor trigger there is one part of a miter saw you touch every time you use it. That being the trigger to engage the blade. this is quite possibly the flimsiest safety design on any saw. there are so many good features about the saw but this poor functionality of the trigger is likely to lead to this item being returned. get rid of the safety or move it. the rolling it to unlock it it dumb and is super cheap and poorly executed. its too bad cause I like kolbalt but with really no online support, i'd need to modify the handle myself to make it operate better. would also be great if there was a show start feature that would be amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw I bought this on sale, best way, to replace an older non-sliding miter saw. I looked at every, literally every miter saw brand during the weeks before black Friday sales to get the best one. I watched YouTube reviews, looked at website reviews, you name it. This saw is way better than the Ryobi competition, has neater features than Dewalt, Rigid, etc. I like that the bevel angle is locked, and unlocked in the FRONT! By a lever on the front arm you use to change the angle of cut/miter. Not in the back by a lever or turn. This is SO NICE. I also like it has common miter angle stops, set them, by turning, on either side, and you're done. It is a dual bevel too. Like I said, I looked at EVERY saw for about two weeks, in stores, and online. This was the absolute best bang for the buck. I actually like the features more than the competition. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic accurate saw Fantastic and very accurate saw. Although info on how to set up is pretty good, customer service had to walk me through it only to find that the manual is wrong. When setting the miter stop for a true 90 degree the maunal points to the right hole but doesn't tell you a metric allen wrench is need to adjust the stop. Once that is done the saw is dead on. Love it and would compare it to a dewalt or other high end saw. Won't find better for the price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 inch Dual Bevel Miter Saw (#0857241) GREAT! I bought this Miter saw (KOBALT Model:SM2516LW, #0857241 on the box) about a week ago to build window frames for a 12X20 covered deck. I own a professional 12 in but it is way too large and heavy to carry through a residence and out on to the porch. It took a couple of weeks of studying and comparing and learning about miter saws in general. At the time I began looking at a smaller, lighter miter saw. there were no You Tube reviews on this specific saw, still none. I started wanting this saw then explored several others, in the end I came back to this one which has the most features at a great price point. Like everyone else says the laser is not usable unless you are working in the dark (but not that gig of a deal). The saw unpacked and was almost perfect in every measurement. All I adjusted was the fence which was less than 1/2 degree off. Everything was tight and packaged well with no missing parts. The dust management bag works as well as most others. The dust port is 2.5 inches and is not readily adaptable to my RIGID shop vac and may be difficult to find an adapter. I gathered some plumbing items together to make an adapter which connected everything but the opening to the chute is very narrow and even with a vacuum, dust was everywhere. The bag actually collects enough to satisfy me but if you are working inside a business or home, it's very dusty unless you can build or purchase a better dust collector. I plan to make a rubber opening that is larger than the chute and try the vac again. Its main competition (price) was the 10 inch RIGID dual bevel compound liter saw (no slider) but it will only cut a 2x4 at 45 degrees. Again I wanted to pay no more than 225.00 for a miter saw. The RIGID in the basic same configuration was over 300.00 and was 20 lbs heavier (remember carrying up two flights of stairs and through the house). I set this up on a small 12X24 HIRSH work stand that I had in storage, bought a 12X12 3/4 inch plywood remnant and cut two 2x4s to bolt through the saw, the 2x4s, and the plywood. Now I just unbolt the miter saw held on with long bolts and wing nuts, fold the work stand and I,m out of there, I store measuring devices and pencils under the saw when in use. The Craftsman saw came close and got fairly good reviews. For the money, size, and features, This KOBALT saw wins for me any way. The saw keeps the angles very accurate and has not been necessary to re-adjust any of them. My bevel locked down very tight but if another won't lock down the adjustment to make it a tighter lock is very easy. The miter and bevel angles were perfect, the saw starts and cuts very well and the blade brake shuts down the blade in around 4 seconds. The included 60 tooth blade cuts wood so smooth, it almost feels sanded. The motor seems adequate for what this saw is capable of cutting. It locks down for transport very well and is light enough to carry wherever you need to. Because I wanted a smaller saw, I did not want a miter saw stand but I already had a Kobalt stand. The smaller fold up HIRSH work table worked great for me. I highly recommend this KOBALT saw to anyone with the same expectations and needs as I did for this saw. So far this saw has run strong with nothing bad to say about it. LOWES is a great place to shop. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
