Oscillating Multi-Tool - 20V XR is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 233.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Portable Tool I've been using the 20v Max line for over a year and just added this Oscillating Multi-tool to the line-up. Works very well, no issues to date. Defiantly want to use the higher grade blades though! You get what you pay for. I also use the tough case system with custom cut foam inserts to protect all my tools around the job sites. I'm retired and use the 20v Max tools for handyman jobs and never have to worry about extension cords. I've built decks and remodeled bathrooms and kitchens for handicap usage and the tools keep on plowing through the work. Dewalt has not failed me yet!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy So reading the other reviews I also looked for the attachments. What I found was this tool is made by Rockwell or some sort of collaboration between dewalt and rockwell. Lowes carry's the Rockwell attachments that are the exact same as what dewalt shows as being there tools. We have purchased three of these so far and we are using them non stop 8 hours a day and they are still going strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most useful tool ever. I've used this thing for cutting through 10 penny nails, brick, sheathing, and wood. Used it to remove caulk. Used it to safely pull painted-shut trim away from a wall with a plastic scraper blade. Used it instead of a jigsaw for smaller cuts on wood flooring etc. Even comes in handy for making plunge cuts in weird spots. And I haven't even had it that long. The only problem is the Dewalt wood&metal blades suck. You can only cut a few nails before they're dull beyond use. I've had to find other brands and mod them to fit. Also the guide is expensive if you want one (it doesn't come with). The tool itself though is awesome. So many uses I can't remember them all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saw is great, battery is not So I have had the Dewalt oscillating tool for a couple weeks and the tool itself is great. Your ability to change blades is easy, it has a good solid feel and the carry bag is well made. The 20v max XR Lithium Ion battery is not great. It charges quickly, as advertised, but it needs to. You only get 10 to 15 minutes of use and it seems to discharge over night. It's my understanding that Lithium Ion batteries are supposed to hold charges for months, not this guy. Luckily I have a non-XR battery that takes up the slack. Not sure if the battery I got is faulty or this is how all the XR's are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dewalt vs off brand I just bought this dewalt oscillating tool, only the kit with the battery and blades (currently $180 which is worth the extra for what you get compared to the bare tool). I upgraded from a cheapo $20 harbor freight version due to forgeting it at home and being out of town on a job needing one. The harbor freight one is really really loud, can't yell over it, my ears will ring when I'm done using it. As always the dewalt version is totally amazing. Much quieter, pressure sensatize trigger and cordless with long lasting lithium power. Well worth the upgrade. Also it is much more professional looking than rolling a cord out in a clients house and saying "I'm going to cut this now, you my want to leave the room, close the door and plug your ears"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best tools ever. We just finished a complete remodel on our home and I can't tell you how many times we turned to this tool. We sanded window ledges, cut grout, trimmed moldings, cut rusty nails & screws etc. etc. etc. the list goes on and on. Constantly amazed at how many uses for this tool we came up with. By far worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliantly Designed! At least a oscillating multi tool that is designed with comfort and some real thought! Incredible for precision work! The variable speed trigger is an awesome addition to and great tool. Only negative that I can site is, in order to take full advantage of the tool free system you have to use DeWalt blades and no one elses if it's going to be tool free but otherwise incredible over all re-design of a wonderful tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool I purchased this tool to work on an R.V. trailer I bought recently with serious dry rot problems in the floor and walls. I bought this tool to get into tight spots to cut fasteners, plywood, paneling, and framing. So far it has worked very well and not having a cord in the way makes things even easier. I have other Dewalt 20 volt tools so I have exchange batteries when needed. The battery life is about equal to my other 20 volt Dewalt tools as well so I'm very satisfied with the battery life. Cutting hardened fasteners is a bit of a problem but that is a blade issue. Dewalt is late to the game on these tools but the first to have one with a good battery option. They don't have the blade selection I'd like to see but the fact that they use the universal tool attachment configuration I was able to find the blades I need in another brand. Overall the design and quality are equal to all my other Dewalt tools which I think is excellent. Since I couldn't find this tool in any stores yet I purchased it on line and received it in 3 days with no shipping charges thank you Lowes. Blades are pricey but that is true for all brands.
