Great set, Great price.
I picked up this tool set today because I have had some DIY projects in mind for months and was tired of borrowing tools from family. All of the tools included are of good quality and feel quite sturdy, as soon as I got home with them I charged the batteries and began a shelving project for a bedroom. The circular saw cut through nice 1"× 6" lumber, the drill has a nice amount of power and effortlessly drilled pilot holes and drove various screws. Shelving project was quick and easy, thanks to this great set. The price was unbeatable, most other tools in this price range and below aren't the same value as these, and all above for the same tools are too expensive for a DIY'er or home owner.

I believe black and decker would be better
The only good thing I can say about this kit is the reciprocating saw is very small and light. The power rating at 20v is just not there. The circular struggled to cut a 2x4. The drill would not power through a 2x4 with a 1" daredevil paddle bit on low speed. The battery life is extremely poor as well and take a very long time to charge. I suppose this kit would be sufficient for very light home improvement, but is not practical for the real word construction scenario. Don't let the price fool you and if you do purchase it make sure you try it out before the limited store warranty expires if you want to take it back. I switched to a Dewalt kit and am without surprise happy.

Good as long as you anticipate the limitations
This set is very good for doing all sorts of work. The only caution is do not expect the circular saw to work as well as a normal 110vac circular saw. It has less torque.
I haven't tried the light, but the drill and reciprocating saw both have been very good.

Good tools, bad bag
Although I haven't had this 2 weeks, yet, I have faith in porter cable tools. But the bag is barely big enough to fit the tools that comes with the kit, if you pack them a certain way. Today I tried to add an extra battery, a small box of speedbore bits and a small box of screw bits, and busted out the zipper, trying to close it. All other brands I have had come with a roomy bag, with plenty of room for extras; this one does not. In less than 2 weeks, the zipper is busted. For that reason, I only give it 3 stars.

New to the TOOL world
As an inexperienced TOOL user I purchased this set from Lowe's for two reasons. 1. On sale 2. Cordless
After some research I knew that I needed these tools for a project that I was working on. As a woman, I'm not knowledgeable about tools even though throughout my life I would watch my dad use his tools I had somewhat of an idea about them. Nevertheless, I charged up the batteries and I was NOT at all intimidated by the power of these tools. It was pleasing that they were very lightweight and easy to use. On to the next project!

Great Value for a starter kit
Bought this kit on sale over the Xmas holidays to replace my well used 18V NiCd set that was stolen while on a job. Over the past 3 months the tools have all been well used. Most of my comparisons will be between my old PC 18V set and DeWalt 18V tools as that's the other battery operated tools I'm familiar with.
First off, this set is much lighter than any of the previous NiCd tools I used, and not just because of the battery weight. The tools themselves are lighter, and I thought would be flimsier at first, but they've held up to 3+ months of being slung around in the soft case, dropped, been rained on, dropped again, etc. and they still all operate just fine. Batteries charge pretty quick, being Li-Ion you can just throw them on the charger whenever without having to run them completely down which is really nice. Actually, running them completely dead will damage the battery so once the tools stop, and they do just go until they stop, no long slow dying period here, just swap batteries. I think it takes ~30 minutes to charge or so....unless I'm using the circular saw I charge faster than I use the batteries.
Drill: Lighter than my last PC and than the DeWalt. I really don't like the trigger on it, it feels like there's a delay between the input and the thing actually spinning, probably because there's a computer circuit helping with the battery whereas the older NiCd ones just used a resistive circuit. Not that big a deal but takes some getting used to. Light on it is plenty bright, helps when working in cramped corners and you can't hold a flashlight at the same time. Definitely been drop tested and rained on, no issues with it boring with up to a 3/4" spade bit in wood, a 1/2" HSS in steel (that does eat battery fast, it was a one time thing) or a 1.5" hole saw for doors. Anything much bigger I think I'd get a real drill for with a handle to manage torque.
Recip Saw: Again, feels light and flimsy at first but it's held up using the short standard bits as well as some of the long 12" demo blades for quick jobs and cutting through 2x6 rafters with nails in them. Probably the least used tool of the bunch, I use it mostly for making quick cuts in metal such as pipe or light structural channel. Don't think this one has the power of the 18V DeWalt, I still use that as my go-to for heavy demo if I can't get a corded Milwaukee in there.
Circular Saw: Much more power than my previous 18V PC. Lighter and more torque, cutting full sheets of plywood is still a little tricky as this is a battery operated saw but a night and day difference from the previous one. Still can run through the battery pretty quick, I'd guess maybe 10-15 sheets and you're done (80-120 linear feet) that's why I usually just grab this for quick cuts, a 2x4/6/8/10 here, a sheet of plywood there, sometimes if I need a small plunge cut on a ladder, this is easier than hauling the corded one. Again, not a torque monster but great for a quickie.
Flashlight: Ok, I was actually surprised here. I'll admit my 18V flashlight the only thing I used it for was to run my batteries completely dead before charging. It was useless. This new on is much smaller, much brighter (LED instead of halogen), and the head of it pivots up and down so you can adjust it. I've put a lanyard on the handle and will hang the light and adjust the head to it's actually useful, as opposed to the last one which was shaped like a drill and had to lay on it's side.
The charger is quick and easy to use. Battery life is good to great on these (higher than my 18V PC or DeWalt for sure). Tools are light which is nice and they've held up really well so far. My biggest complaint to date is the bad they came in is nothing like the old grey and black PC bag my last set had. That was a heavy-duty, double walled monster that I could keep all number of prybars, drill bits, and saw blades in and force shut with the industrial zipper on it This new red bag is thin (has a small tear in it from something I have in there, no telling what), too small, and the zipper is not long for this world, especially since it only just barely closes with just the tools, batteries, and charger in it. I just leave it open most of the time which ends up spilling out in the truck.

Homeowner Tools with Contractor Features!
I purchased the four-tool Porter Cable kit at a great price, not really expecting a lot from such an inexpensive set. I picked up the tools, brought them home, charged up the batteries, installed the necessary blades, and tested them on a cedar fencing project. These tools worked PERFECTLY!! The drill driver is powerful, nicely balanced, and easy to use. The circular saw was impressive as well, and changing blades is a snap. The look and feel of the tools is very nice, and I look forward to using them in the future.

I got this set for Christmas from my wife. who researches EVERYTHING to death. Of coarse I checked it out too and gave a thumbs up. I have used all of the tools and they have exceeded my expectations. in fact I am selling my DeWalt 20 volt and replacing with these. you will not be disappointed with this set.
