24" Cordless Self-Propelled Snowblower - 2 Stages - Black/Blue is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love how much easier it is to handle. I found my gas snowblower just too heavy too handle, so was thrilled when I found this battery operated one. The batteries last about 30 minutes, only just enough time for my driveway. The toggle switch for the auger is very difficult to press so I now carry a marker pen in my pocket that is just the right size to press the switch, saves getting a sore thumb. The auger button takes a little patience to get it to click in, so do the batteries. Overall, I am impressed with the distance the snow is thrown, how quiet the machine is and how light it is, so much easier to maneuver.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good snowblower, but not as good as gas blower This is a good tiny snowblower. Works great for 2 car driveway and sidewalk. But if you compare with 2-stage gas blower, it's not as big and powerful. I am happy as it fulfils my requirement. It can chop hard ice left by the snowplow, though it takes more time to chop compared with my neighbours gas blower. Battery time is barely 30 mins with light fluffy snow of 8 inches. The auger shuts down if snow is little wet even at slowest forward speed, which is annoying. I like how I am done with frequent maintenance as no more oil change, spark plug tuneup and gas issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Battery Tech Almost There The ION8024-XR was the first snowblower that I found with power assist drive wheels. While I was happy to hear it operate fairly quietly and see that the 2-stage worked well in deep snow, there were a few things that I think need improvement: (1) one of the battery compartments is too shallow and makes it difficult to keep the battery under the retention clip (2) the powered chute gears get clogged with snow and need to be brushed off quite often (3) the power chute button (left/right) is too small to operate while wearing gloves (a must at -20 deg. C).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not built for Canada eh I bought this 3 days ago hoping to not deal with oil changes or gas fillups or other maintenance as I don't have a garage to work in. As I've tested it out once (the battery lasted 15 minutes after an overnight charge); I'd be happy to spend more on something that worked but this couldn't handle the wet snow (pssst... snow's made of water... its often wet). There's a reason they give you the chute shovel and stick it right on the front of the machine, though I'm waiting for the time it gets knocked in front and chewed up as it did get knocked off by wet snow sloshing through (pushed by the auger and not the impeller).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed This is my first snowblower. I have a battery powered lawn mower and trimmer so I knew there would be limitations compared to gas powered or electric. I have a three car long, Y-shaped driveway so it is not two cars wide. In a light 6" snow with a small windrow, the battery went down to one bar after about 20 minutes I only used the drive wheels periodically. The manual says to stop at one bar or risk battery life longevity, but I pushed through for 30 minutes without the drive wheels and was done before the battery drained. Very disappointed that I was not able to use the drive wheels fully and had to risk battery life while only using it for short time under fairly reasonable conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good results... Didn't know what to expect with a 2 stage electric snowblower. First of all the assembly is pretty easy and the general quality of the machine is excellent. The batteries charged quickly and I was out the door to test it out. I only had about a foot of snow however I am in the Colorado mountains so the snow was fairly light... I worked for about 10 min clearing the back and came out front to take care of the packed snow the plow just left. I was amazed at how well it cut trough the ice and packed snow, it is close to a small gas snowblower... Bottom line, a lot of thought went into this machine, for example the system provides more torque as it encounters heavier snow keeping it at a constant rate by creating more power when it is needed. It works... I am very pleased with this snowblower...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than I thought First of all, this thing really throws snow, just like a gas powered snowblower. But, like anything, it has it's limits. We had a BIG storm in January. Probably 24" in 24 hours. It would move 6" or 8" of wind packed snow with no problem. Where it drifted to 10", it would stall, but, if you went real slow, it would throw it. The end of the driveway, where the plow had piled it up 24" deep? Forget it. I just knocked it down with a shovel and blew it 6" or 8" at a time. Slow but WAY better than shoveling! Negatives? As others have noted, the control buttons, although nice in theory, are hard to manage with gloves or mittens on. The tires are kind of small and don't grip that well when you're trying to move through a lot of snow. And, the 5 AH batteries only last about 20 minutes, which is JUST enough to do our driveway that's 70' long X 10' wide. But, all things considered, I'm happy with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was hoping for more from this product. I have high hopes that sno-joe will get this right in the future. I am a tradesman and use battery operated tools all the time. I switched to a cordless lawnmower 2 years ago and it’s been one of my best investments. Light and powerful enough for both front and back yard ( fairly large property ) on a single charge. I gave this product a try on about 10 cm of light snow and it cleared my driveway but it was challenging. I found it awkward to use and was not able to blow the snow in the faster gears. I’ve used a gas blower and they are messy and not great for the environment, so I really was hoping for the best. Keep trying please to get this right as I know it’s the future of tools and equipment. I also did my homework and read all reviews, before I purchased, both good and negative but I guess I was hoping for the best. Maybe next year, for now it’s back to the shovel.
