They could of engineered this unit much better !
This review is my opinion and not to deter or promote you to purchase this model of machine. First off, putting the machine in reverse is difficult. To move the lever in reverse #1 speed feels very stiff and a little stiffer in reverse #2 speed. Starting the machine with the pull cord start was difficult, only because you really have to pull to start and it did not start easily ( that was on multiple tries, starting and stopping the engine ). Once started, 1st gear feels very quick almost like should be 2nd or 3rd speed and 2nd feels to fast and so on ( 6th is like a go cart ). #1 speed in reverse is to quick and not much different from #2 speed in reverse which would be fine for that selected speed. The throttle speed and choke are not in a very convenient location, but I new that upon purchasing the unit. This review was from taking the machine home and practicing with it for about an hour and a half . I've used different makes of machines in the past and still have another manufacturers unit which is much more user friendly on these points. Just purchased the unit so I haven't moved any serious snow yet.

Easy to setup, easy to start manually. Throws the snow a fair bit but only if there is a lot. Overall great buy!

So far so good
I only used this snow blower once to clear 6" of snow on the drive and a 36" pile end of the drive. No issues at all. Make sure you watch videos online on how to assemble. That speeds up assembly without guessing. You will need needle nose pliers for the cotter pin assemble. Adjust the big shoot wing nut handle each time before you start the machine to keep the shoot height control from jamming up. All blower shoots jam a little because the snow melts then freezes when stored. Shoot rotation is very smooth. The tires on this model are airless. that should be on every snow blower. Can't tell you how many times in 35 years I've had to pump tires and just gave up when they froze flat. Never use ethanol gas in snow blowers without a fuel stabilizer. Shell 91% octane should still be ethanol free. Check online. Always check for loose nuts and bolts from the factory. I've not tried the electric start because the thing starts first pull. The unit is so well balanced, you almost never need to use reverse gears. I like the fact, I can take one of the reverse gears and make it a super slow forward gear in seconds. That gets me between the houses on my narrow walkway without banging into things. Forget the expensive snow blower cover. I bought the biggest barbecue cover which fits better over big snowblowers. I never give 5 stars until a unit goes through more brutalize use.
