Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nicely Made - Nest App Needs to Catch Up The temperature sensor is -- like all Nest products -- very well built however; support for it in the Nest App is not as good as other Nest products although I'm sure it will improve over time. For now, it is not that intuitive to set up when to use the temperature reading from a sensor over the thermostat, and the schedule settings are vague (Morning, Midday, Evening, Night) and not granular enough. As one reviewer mentioned, it only supports third generation Nest thermostats. It's stated on the box, and product website so it should come as no surprise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FINALLY This thing is amazing. I was apprehensive plus the price is a little steep but it was incredibly easy to set up and deals with the temp discrepancy that can reach upwards of 6 degrees between the two floors. You can also arrange it so that it pulls from the sensor vs the thermostat at various times of day which is perfect for the summer at night!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gotta Have This is a great addition to your Nest thermostat. We set it in out master bedroom and we are much more comfortable. It is very affordable and non intrusive to your decor. It includes everything you need to hang on wall if you desire. You can set times when it reads temperature from the sensor. Make sure that you a 3rd generation thermostat for it to work. We plan on getting several for around the house. Don’t think twice you’ll thank yourself shortly after getting them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expensive but does what it says This device Simply allows one to monitor temp in other rooms. You can only set one sensor to be the “boss” based on a schedule. The ecobee and other devices with custom IFTTT methods encorparate a motion sensor so it keeps temp up where you are. (Occupancy) For what it is it works. Maybe next gen will have an occupancy sensor, or nest will allow use of some of the nest protect products together with this to add to options. For example: We have a media room that is quite colder and we don’t care about that unless we are in it, then we would like that room to also be kept up to the right temp. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Fantastic! Works with 3rd gen thermostats. This works great. I was hesitant to buy this because I didn’t know if I was actually going to need it. But it gets really cold in the bedroom at night because the air conditioner is right above the room and the sensor keeps it from getting too cold at night now. Perfect temperature

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not ready for Primetime Does it sense the temperature in a remote room, yes. Can you schedule it to change your system to respond to your heating/cooling needs in that room, sort of. The remote sensor has its own schedule baked into its software. So, you DO NOT have the ability to independently switch back to the main Nest sensor during the time period that the remote sensor is active. I wanted my system to revert to the remote sensor at 10pm to cool down my bedroom. At 4am, I wanted the system to change back to the Nest sensor. It can’t do it. Because of the baked in schedule, it can’t switch until 7am. Ridiculous. I can’t believe Nest can’t give us full control over the schedule, with the ability to schedule any sensor at any time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finally Nest has remote Temp. Sensors! Works perfectly! It is a little tricky to setup though. The initial setup with Nest is relatively easy, however, you then have to find the linked thermostat and then tell it to start using the remote sensor instead of the built in Temperature, by selecting the remote sensor on the thermostat screen of the App. Without this it will continue using it's own sensor. After a week of usage I do find that the Bedroom temperature is being balanced better and is cooler and more consistent than before. Well worth the purchase for me since the air temp in the stairway where the thermostat is located is often cooler or hotter than the bedroom itself. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy I originally was going to get the 3 pack, but then rethought and only needed 1 for a bedroom... It turns out we have a 3-6 degree difference from the main thermostat to the new sensor we placed upstairs. Easy set up and works great.....
