XR Impact Driver - Cordless - 1/4" - 20V is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 66.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of Power! This impact driver is great! It has enough power to drive big lags and deck screws with ease. It also worked great when I had to remove rusty deck screws, though some were so old they snapped off. I was also able to use it to drill through metal with ease. This impact driver also worked great to remove smaller hex bolts from a trailer when using impact sockets, it saved me a ton of time over using a traditional wrench. Battery life on the standard 1.5 AH batteries is phenomenal. Get this impact diver, you won't be disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good. but not as good as the previous DCF886 model It's good but... there's a nagging issue that means it's not GREAT!. I am a total DeWalt fan and own many many of their tools for their design, power & balance, however on this occasion I feel this model is a downgrade from the previous model (DCF886) that I owned and loved in a few ways. This model has too much chuck wobble (the DCF886 was PERFECT - why did you change it DeWalt!?) which is annoying considering how much that part is used. Secondly, I don't find the variable speed any use, the pressure sensitive trigger is enough and doesnt require you to move your hands to control it + I'd rather save the weight. However this Impact Driver is a robust and essential tool in any consumer's arsenal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of torque! Last year I received the 20 volt drill/driver with charger and 2 batteries for a present. This year I asked for the 20 volt impact driver,(bare tool). I am thrilled with the impact driver performance. I can easily drive 3 1/2" screws into 6x6 posts without hesitation. I like the weight and balance of this impact driver and the lights do help in low light situations. I had been using a 12 volt impact driver,(it was adequate..) but the Dewalt is in an entirely different league. thank you for a great tool!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These aren't made like they used to be I own a garage door business. Our main tool is the 20 volt impact. It is the swiss army knife for a door guy, that being said we are constantly buying new impacts because the guys bump the impacts off ladders, scissor lifts etc.. The plastic case breaks 9 out of ten times right around the trigger. I think the first generation of 20 volts were built much stronger and could take a beating. I would like the Dewalt team to take a look at fixing this problem. I have seriously been considering switching to Milwaukee tools. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dewalt brushless impact tool with mode sector 1 Dewalt DCF887B with mode sector #1 for impact screw driving applications. The impact function makes this tool particularly useful for driving fasteners in wood, metal and concrete. With the brushless motor, has 152 ft/lbs more than enough to do most jobs. 1/4" hex one handed quick release is great and will hold 1 inch bits with out falling out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool Excellent tool, love the fact that I can change speeds, LED is nice and bright. Battery life is great and punches through anything I throw at it. The only thing I don't like is the brushless tools seem to have a "soggy" Forward/Reverse switch. I'm guessing this is because of the different components, its not a problem, just not as tactile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and powerful I run two of these in my kit. I was so impressed with the first one I picked up another. The big selling feature with the 887 impact driver is the small size. Great for tight spots, but still sports a punch. I was surprised at the ability of this unit to drive in 3" long 1/4 tapcons into harden concrete with no issues. Yet in a pinch drive in drywall screws because I forgot my driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Far more power than the standard 1/4" impact If you are looking for an impact that will drive screws and lags faster than any other, this is your tool. I just tested this variable speed impact against my standard impact and there was no competition. This driver will run screws faster than just about any other driver. I am looking forward to installing some decks next year.
